The April Christchurch expo was cancelled due to the February 22nd earthquake causing extensive damage to the city, which is Armageddon Expo's home base. The event has been rescheduled to this weekend at Addington Raceway and though there will be no special guests, it will feature most of the originally planned events. Of interest to anime fans will be exhibitors, a screening room, cosplay parades and competitions. Tickets cost $5 at the door (no online sales) with children aged 5 and under admitted for free. Other Convention News

AVCon: The Adelaide anime and video game convention has announced that Jade Gatt and Ryan Lappin, the former hosts of Channel 10 morning cartoon show Cheez TV, will attend AVCon as special guests. During its run, Cheez TV screened series such as Teknoman, Pokémon, Dragon Ball Z, Card Captors, Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Jade and Ryan promoted anime through live segments.

Manifest: Several announcements have been posted on the blog in the lead up to this year's Manifest. Among them include free press kits and a new 'Who Will You Be?' promotion, this year's merchandise design competition opening, and information on preregistering off-line at a store located in the central business district.

SMASH!: The Sydney Manga and Anime Show will close pre-registrations for the con on July 6th, with the con itself being held on July 16th. It has also issued reminders to enter competitions and register as vendors on its blog.

Wai-Con: Wai-Con's committee organisation Perth Anime Convention (PaniC) is holding an Anigames video games event featuring competitive and casual play. The event will be held on the 9th of July in the Citiplace Community Centre located at Perth Railway Station. Ticket prices range from $10 for PAniC members to $15 for the general public.
