The website for the Ro-Kyu-Bu! television anime series launched on Friday and officially posted the project's first 105-second animated promotional video on Saturday.
The anime adapts Sagu Aoyama's Ro-Kyu-Bu! light novel series. The story centers around a high school freshman boy named Subaru Hasegawa who joined the basketball team, but the team stopped playing due to the captain being suspected of being a lolicon. Subaru somehow ends up as a coach of an elementary school's basketball team with five girls.
The five actresses who play the basketball team members — Kana Hanazawa, Yuka Iguchi, Yōko Hikasa, Rina Hidaka, and Yui Ogura — formed a Ro-Kyu-Bu! unit that already starred in a live-action teaser video and a music video. Like the animated promotional video, the music video features the "Shoot!" opening theme song performed by the five voice actresses.
The anime itself will premiere in Japan on July 1.
