Silverlight-tan Hikaru


After Microsoft's introduction of their Windows 7 mascot, Madobe Nanami, they have followed up with an official mascot for Silverlight named Hikaru.
For those who don't know Hikaru in Japanese means light, a suitable name for silverlight. However she is not intended for the Japanese market but rather for the Taiwanese market.

She also comes with some statistics if you are all wondering:

This actually has nothing to do with anime but for some reason I wanted to post it, maybe because its the fact that I've never realised or rather taken notice that Microsoft had produced a mascot for their operating systems. Although I guess I wanted to post this because the mascot is an anime character, well more CG but it's all the same to me. I want Silverlight now .... so thats how their marketing plan works, make a cute mascot.

Japanese people has to anime everything don't they? They have anime suburb (akihabara), anime convenient stores, anime version of guide books, anime mascots for every window versions and now they have anime mascots for even softwares. Maybe just me, but I think they are over doing everything with anime. Other than that, Hikaru is cute! ><
