This year's 39th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine is announcing next Wednesday that an original anime DVD of Kouji Seo's Kimi no Iru Machi manga has been green-lit for next spring. Yasuhiro Yoshiura (Time of Eve) is serving as chief director, while Hiroshi Kobayashi (Yozakura Quartet) is the director at Tatsunoko Productions. Momoko Murakami (Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream) is writing the script. Ryuusuke Chayama (Time of Eve) is designing the characters, and Akira Takata (Natsume Yūjin-Chō) is the chief animation director.
The project is a collaboration with Shōbara, the city in Hiroshima Prefecture where Seo's birthplace is now located. The city will have posters drawn by Takata for its Shōbara Yoitoko Festival during the August 27-28 weekend.
Seo launched the school romantic comedy in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2008 after ending Suzuka in the same magazine in 2007.

Takumii's notes: I'm so happy after I saw this. This is one of my favourite manga and it's getting an adaption. I'm also glad that the staff are so all so good. Time of Eve and Natsume Yujin-Cho were really successful animes. This sure looks promising. I really hope the seiyuu casts will be to my liking. That is my only wish now!! ><
